Responsible gambling at LuckyGem

This is the page I spend the most time on as an editor specialised in responsible gambling: control tools, a self-assessment test and the official help resources in Spain, explained plainly.

A note on licensing

LuckyGem promotes an operator with an offshore Costa Rica licence, without a DGOJ licence for Spain. Its self-exclusion tools aren't connected to the state's national self-exclusion register (RGIAJ), and legal protection is different (generally lower) than with a Spanish-licensed operator.

Tools available, explained

Setting these limits before your first deposit — not mid-session — is what actually makes them effective: a limit set calmly is far harder to skip than one improvised under pressure.

Self-assessment test

Answer honestly. Three or more "yes" answers suggest seeking professional guidance:

  1. Have you bet more money or time than you originally planned?
  2. Have you needed to bet increasing amounts to feel the same excitement?
  3. Have you tried to cut down or stop gambling without success?
  4. Do you feel restless or anxious when trying to stop?
  5. Do you gamble to escape stress or negative emotions?
  6. Have you bet more to try to win back previous losses?
  7. Have you hidden from family or friends how much you gamble or spend?
  8. Has gambling put a relationship, job or study opportunity at risk?
  9. Have you sold belongings or taken loans to fund gambling?
  10. Have you borrowed money from others to ease a situation caused by gambling?

Protecting minors

Access is strictly prohibited to anyone under 18. We recommend installing parental controls on any device shared with minors, since the operator's age verification happens after registration: prevention on the device itself remains the first line of defence.

Warning signs and support for family

Progressively increasing time or money spent gambling, hiding bank statements, feeling anxious when unable to play, or prioritising gambling over daily obligations are signs worth taking seriously, in yourself or a family member. FEJAR and Gambling Therapy offer resources specifically for relatives, including guidance on raising the topic without confrontation.

Social versus problem gambling

Social gambling is defined by a pre-set budget and time, no impact on daily obligations, and the ability to stop without significant distress. Problem gambling is identified by a progressive loss of control over time or money spent, the need to hide the activity, and using gambling as emotional escape.

Self-exclusion at LuckyGem

Request it by contacting support from your account panel, stating the desired period. During self-exclusion the account is blocked from depositing and playing, though withdrawals of balance available at the time are usually still possible. We recommend requesting it in writing for a record of the date.
